I uninstalled are reinstalled the softwares but the problem persists. But what is causing this wired problem? Not a single MKV file would run. Sure I can ask my friend to convert those files to another format and then give to me. The files are playing without any problems on friend's PC. I even tried to convert then to some other extension with Format Factory, but it gives an error message (error 0x00000001). And most of the times the files won't play at all. With KM player, I was able to play the video sometimes but no proper audio. With VLC, the audio was fine but the video was not playing.

I tried with VLC media player, KM Media player, Wondershare media player, KODI. But not a single file would run properly. I tried running some mkv video files that I copied from a friend.
